Real Stories and wisdom from Home Birth in Central Ohio
This site is a unique resource.
Are you homebirth curious and want to know more about what to expect before diving in? Maybe you have fear and doubt? What does midwifery care look like? Do you want to birth at home with all your heart but aren’t sure how to go about planning? Maybe you have that instinctual feeling in your gut that homebirth is right for you but you don’t know anyone else who has traveled this road before? Maybe, and most likely, you had a wonderful, life-altering homebirth experience and you want to share your story with other women so they can forge their path with courage, wisdom and hope?
Born at Home Columbus was built for you.
There are many great providers, and many great resources about planning a home birth but there wasn’t one source for hearing the stories and wisdom of women who birthed at home in Central Ohio. Wouldn’t it be great to peek into what birth was like at home? What would be the common threads? What would be the differences?
I hope this collection of stories will grow. I hope we will hear stories of so many variations with all different midwives and doulas and family constructs. Storytelling is a powerful medicine that our birthing people need very badly. Knowledge and empowerment start with sharing our stories and experiences to help others make decisions based not solely out of fear. I hope you will join me to share your wisdom here.
Sincerely,
Elaine
